Your health is important to us! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and knowledge is power. A healthy diet is not only beneficial to our everyday lives but is also essential to combating diseases such as this one.

Millions of women are affected each year by breast cancer. Currently, the average risk of a woman in the United States developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 12 percent. (That’s 1 in 8 women!)

That’s why this weekend, when you purchase a plan and use code BCA10, we’re giving YOU $10 off of your Catered Fit purchase and donating $10 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation , a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer.

Members of the Catered Fit family, employees and customers alike, have both fought and watched their loved ones fight cancer. Which is why this cause is so close to our hearts. In the month of October we will be bringing you facts and tips, diets and tricks that coincide with our #CateredFitToFight campaign. For us, it’s personal! Not only will our team be going PINK (keep an eye out for our reps flashing their pink-tees) but we will be actively working to raise awareness around how diet can positively impact and combat cancer. We aren’t doctors, but our mission is focused on health and wellness, and in regards to cancer self checks are an important part of staying aware.

Did you know?! Some foods known for aiding in the fight against cancer are grains, green leafy vegetables such as spinach, swiss chard and endives, cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower, legumes like peas, chickpeas, lima beans, and lentils. Others include garlic, shallots, parsley, fennel and carrots.
